The nori in the center is a thick horizontal stroke driven across in one motion, forming a band that holds the rice tight. For the rice below, I swept the outline in a large, round curve with the oblique brush and finished the bottom with weight. The grains of rice are scattered in small dabs, in dark ink that leaves no dry brush.
